“Hi!” said the little girl
We were wandering through a dollar store when a little girl ran up to darling wife with a huge smile, threw her arms around wife’s lower tentacles, and said “Hi!” to her.
Neither of us had any idea who she was. But she seemed very happy to see darling wife. Perhaps she mistook wife for someone she knew. Or perhaps she knew wife from her school, where wife makes appearances but knows only some of the students by name.
Wife responded with a similar greeting, leaning down to hug the little girl. The girl beamed for a moment, then ran back to her mother who was watching from the other end of the aisle.
We all exchanged smiles and went our separate ways.
It was a nice encounter, if a confusing one.
