We collect rusty junk. And by “we,” I mean darling wife collects, and I pay the bills and carry the packages.
We went to a plant sale this past weekend, where one of our favorite junk dealers was to be in attendance. And he was there, and we had a lovely chat, and we brought home some fun rusty junk. Old tools, wagon wheels, farm equipment… it all looks beautiful, rusting there on the fence in the jungle wetness. Depending on its alloy and its surface coating, a piece may endure for many years, or it may dissolve away within one season.
If a piece dissolves, that leaves room to collect another and put it up in its place. Everything dies, eventually, making room for new.
Luckily aliens are immune to tetanus.
