Canadian “justice” system rapes Rehtaeh Parsons again
Rehtaeh Parsons got drunk at a party in Nova Scotia, was raped at the party, was harassed constantly about the event on social media, and finally killed herself. Now, finally, the boys who assaulted her at the party, took pictures and harassed her on social media are being prosecuted. But Canadian law says that journalists who report on the story cannot mention the victim’s name, now that the trial is in progress.
Ridiculous. Such suppression of information violates the memory of her and the odious reasons for which she died. It’s rape all over again, this time by the Canadian legal bureaucracy.
Thank goodness I’m neither a journalist nor Canadian.
