Chicago has more guns, less crime
Remember when I told you that Chicago’s new “shall issue” concealed carry law will result in a direct reduction of violent crime, because now the criminals won’t know who’s armed? Well, it’s happened, although I’m sure you didn’t hear about it in the media, Chicago’s crime rate in the first quarter of 2014 is down 25 percent from 2013, and has achieved the lowest first-quarter violent crime rate in 56 years, since 1958.
The Chicago Police chief claims that the reduction in crime is due to better police work. That’s obviously not true. Residents arming themselves is the reason. A criminal won’t attack you if he/she thinks you might have a weapon, because criminals are cowards, and they like easy pickings.
Buy a gun, learn how to use it, learn the laws governing its use, and carry it with you. That will keep you safer than any amount of “police work.” The US Supreme Court has ruled that the police are not responsible for protecting you. The police’s job is to collect the corpses of victims, and to write reports about crimes that have already happened. Your job is to protect yourself, and prevent a crime from happening to you.
Do your job.
