Mortality

2013-12-04T12:06:00+00:00

I heard, third-hand, that a former fellow agent died from a virulent form of cancer. I had not spoken to her in decades, so it doesn’t matter to me, other than that I remember her as she was decades ago. Glib, smiley, a bit fake. She made up for her lack of technical skill with customer service, which worked most of the time, but occasionally her projects blew up in spectacular fashion. She left the agency to have children. Now her children are motherless. That will be difficult for them.

She and I were of a similar age and background. Her death reminds me that every day you wake up is a good day.

And no one gets out alive.

Well hi there, haven’t seen you in a while. What’s new? Do you still write? I’ve lost my blog list.
