Evanescence, “Made of Stone” (Renholder remix)

This tune is used in the end credits of “Underworld: Awakening,” which I saw the other night. Selene (Kate Beckinsale) has a teenaged daughter who is a hybrid of both vampire and werewolf. Werewolves kidnap her to use her DNA to augment themselves. Selene kills everyone to get her daughter back. Great date movie. Of course, the stars of the show are Kate’s twin Beretta 92FS pistols, modified to be fully automatic. Not very effective (the magazine empties in half a second on full automatic) but very pretty.

In other news, I sat through half an hour of “Identity Thief” before I finally shut it off. It would have been a better movie if Jason Bateman’s character had hunted down Melissa McCarthy’s character after she stole his identity and ruined his life, and killed her in retribution. Perhaps it wouldn’t have been much of a comedy, but it would have been a much better film. Shorter, too. Maybe more of a Public Service Announcement along the lines of “Drive drunk and go to jail”; “Steal someone’s identity and die for it.”

Anyway. Music.
