They’re already here

So I ordered the first three seasons of “Downton Abbey” on DVD for darling wife. She has become an addict quite quickly. I’ve watched a bit of it. I find most British costume dramas boring, though if they ever bother to do a costume drama set in the English Civil War (1642-1651 AD), I would definitely watch. Anyway, “Downton Abbey” has nice scenery, witty dialogue, and great British stars earning their paychecks.

I ordered the discs in time to arrive by Valentine’s day, and even paid extra for them to arrive. Darling wife said they didn’t, and she was disappointed. (I don’t really know why – after I ordered the discs, she discovered that we can stream the episodes through our local cable provider for much less money, and she decided she was going to return the discs anyway after they arrived.)

I got home tonight, and a suspicious package was sitting on my desk, along with the other mail that darling wife had brought in. The package was roughly the size and shape of a set of “Downton Abbey” discs. I opened it, and confirmed that it was indeed the discs she had said had not arrived.

She’s smarter than I am. I’m not sure why she didn’t figure it out. I will have to tell her in the morning.

What a nice gift. We found it on Netflix to stream, but they only had Season 1. I couldn’t find the other two seasons on cable so I just went and bought them at Best Buy. I already know I like it, so oh well.
