The single life

2012-12-07T09:00:37+00:00

I read an interesting article about how single (unmarried) people are becoming the societal norm. Single people voted for socialism in the last election. Married people didn’t.

It made me remember that I’m grateful to be married. I never planned to get married… there aren’t that many marriageable aliens stationed on this planet. Finding one was statistically very unlikely. And I get along with very few people, human or Martian. I tolerate their presence, at best. Then I found my darling wife, or rather, she found me. We tolerate each other somewhat better than we tolerate everyone else. For us, that’s love.

If it weren’t for her, I would be one of those lonely single people who are now the majority. And most people I know who are single, are lonely. There’s no happy future of companionship for them, and they know it.

There, but for the grace of God, go I.

ThanX, pal, for rubbing it in. [G]

Sorry, sir… perhaps I can clone my darling wife for you. But you would have to enjoy the company of an alien. And it would take a few years for the clone to reach maturity. Not sure it would be worth the wait. ;-)
