Thomas Dolby, “Weightless”


Have I shown you this? I don’t remember. It’s simply a lovely tune, so unique, so unclassifiable, genre-wise. The lyrics are very poignant to me, for some reason. “Same old insecurity, strap him into his car seat, and the stuff started leaking, all over New Jersey, gas stations everywhere, not one drop to fill me.” Lovely. Even though I’m not sure exactly what it means. “Not one drop to fill me.” Perhaps that’s what’s sticking in my heads.

“You, you could be the one,” she whispered.
