“I’m not getting sex from her, why should I date her?”

I asked a friend of mine why he wasn’t making an effort to go out with his longtime female companion.

He replied, “I’m not getting sex from her, why should I date her?”

I couldn’t believe he would say that, much less think that. He is not young anymore. Evolution is finished with him. Sex should not really be a factor in his relationships anymore. Companionship should.

Apparently he didn’t get the memo. But he thinks he is still a stud, whereas I think it’s questionable whether he was ever a stud. I don’t see women lining up at his door, so I think the quantifiable data trump his opinion of himself.

Oddly enough, he is back with her now, and as far as I know, he is still not getting any (she is post-menopausal and uninterested). Perhaps he was simply displaying typical male bravado in his statement.

I don’t think he’s fooling anyone.

Methinks he’s trying to fool himself. Not well, however.

Maybe there’s something else about him that causes his lady friend’s sexual reluctance. Perhaps he has some sort of fetish she’s sick of and menopause was a convenient excuse!

      Bahaha – That’s likely true.

Wow. He sounds like a real catch. Maybe the look you gave him when he said it made him take a look at himself …
